Elmetto

Fifty years on, the form remains unchanged. It is the surface, however, that has changed radically.

Elmetto 50 is a special flocked edition, available in five vibrant colours. A deliberately bolder reinterpretation of the purity of the original design.

The flocked finish creates a slight perceptual shift: a rigid, austere form becomes soft, feeling almost like fabric to the touch. Light now meets a matt, textured surface; Elmetto’s familiar silhouette takes on a more physical dimension, giving the material a new role in how the lamp is perceived.

And then there’s the colour.

Blue, Fuchsia, Rust, Green and Wine Red: saturated shades, at times striking, which recapture something of the chromatic freedom and experimental spirit that characterised design in the 1960s and 1970s. These five colours, therefore, are not treated as a mere expansion of the colour range, nor as a pretext for turning Elmetto into a nostalgic exercise, but take on a personality of their own.
