The Elos lamp designed by Marcello Morandini is back in the catalogue after several years. I met Marcello many years ago. It was a very pleasant meeting, in the country house with my parents, at lunch, under a big tent and it was raining... we started laughing. We talked about many interesting things related to design and the desire to have one of his projects in our production. He said: I’ll think about it. After a while, we came up with this particular idea which, in my opinion, reveals his concept of space and form very well. Simple geometric elements: a square, a circle and a half sphere which, thanks to the reflection in the mirror on which it rests, is perceived as the sphere, a \"mutation of form in space\" as only he was able to develop in his continuous research.
His works are born under the sign of architecture, and it's possible to speak of "architecture of everyday use" in the sphere of design. Using black and white to give more value to form than superficial aesthetics.
