Exhibition "Design. a journey between Italy and Spain".
June, 2021
On Monday 21st of June, the exhibition 'The Design. A journey between Italy and Spain' was inaugurated at the Italian Cultural Institute in Madrid.
On the occasion of the activities related to the Italian Design Day, the Italian Embassy in Madrid presents the exhibition that brings together the winning prototypes of the second edition of the competition promoted in collaboration with the Consulate General of Italy in Barcelona, ADI-FAD - Associació de Disseny Industrial COAM - Colegio Oficial Arquitectos de Madrid di_mad - Asociación de Diseñadores de Madrid Interni Magazine which was carried out within the project ITmakES by the Italian Embassy in Madrid.
The exhibition, entitled "L'Oggetto Identitario" (The Identity Object), organized in collaboration with Interni with the aim of creating synergies by involving students of disciplines related to industrial design and young Spanish under-35 designers and the lively productive reality of the Italian furniture sector.
Among the various design models on display is the "Nahe" table lamp prototyped by Martinelli Luce and composed of two modules that can be separated and made autonomous in case of need; the initiative revealed great energy and ferment among the new generation of Iberian designers. Contrary to the Italian situation in which there is a strong relationship between business and the education system, young people in Spain are more trained as makers, which facilitated the operation of the Italian prototyping companies: Alessi, Baleri, cc-tapis, Disegno Mobile, Emu, Martinelli Luce and True Design.
