Multidot's cable of 24 spheres has been custom designed to minimise memory and to allow full functionality to be maintained even if a single ball fails. This is made possible by the connections arranged in parallel along the liana: even if one sphere were to be damaged, the system would continue to operate. It is then sufficient to open the damaged sphere and replace the faulty LED, without interrupting general operation
The maximum overall length of the catenary is 10 metres.
The spacing between the spheres can be 11, 20 or 30 centimetres.
