The Lake Como Design Festival will start tomorrow 6 October until the 10th of October, with the aim of supporting and enhancing the beauty of the lake and its artistic and architectural heritage through cultural activities in the area. A cultural project that aims to promote, in Italy and worldwide, all the quality of a territory that has always had a strong identity.
In the schedule of the event Marco Sammicheli will curate the group exhibition "History Repeating. How designers look at history" inside the Social Theatre of Como.
The exhibition explores the history of modern and contemporary design as an archipelago of islands to be navigated and will try to highlight how designers and companies look at the past and how it can be a design theme rich in nuances.
Martinelli Luce will be present with Sergio Asti's table lamp Profiterolle (1968) an iconic product inspired by the famous dessert and composed of two methacrylate and polyester shells with fibreglass, characterised by an elegant combination of solids and circles, which continuously embrace and chase each other.
