Gianluca Peluffo, an internationally renowned architect, opened his architectural studio, Peluffo & Partners, in Albissola Marina (Liguria) in 2017. Albissola Marina has a history that is distinctly Italian, with a focus on craft traditions, the relationship between people and their environment, and artistic heritage. Peluffo has established himself on the international architectural scene for his architectural construction.
His belief that architecture can transform the world, that happiness is the goal of architecture, and that every structure has a purpose and meaning for the general public are traits of his work.
It is with this spirit that Peluffo & Partners approached the Egyptian culture and territory by working on projects in the country, including the Red Sea city 'Mount Galala' near Sokhna. And it is this landscape that inspired the design of the Lady Galala indoor and outdoor lamp.
Peluffo's stylistic language is an architecture that is both collective and specific at the same time, with roots that are rooted in local identity, but also open to confrontation with the world.
The inter-subjectivity between building, city, landscape and man is the action that Peluffo & Partners implements through projects for public buildings, schools, universities, residences, recovery of historic buildings, buildings for work, music, entertainment, congresses, research, commerce and culture.
The rigour and originality of the projects have earned the firm several national and international awards, including the Philippe Rotthier European Prize for Architecture, The Chicago Athenaeum award, the AIT Awards, the Silver Lion at the Venice Biennale (for the new Palazzo del Cinema), the LEAF Award, the ULI Global Award for Excellence, the Ceramics of Italy and The Plan award.
Gianluca Peluffo is a Researcher at IULM in Milan where he deals with the relationship between Art and Architecture and is Visiting Professor of Architectural Design at ENAM, Ecole National d'Architecture de Marrakech.
