Paola Navone chooses the Kiki lamp for the restyling of McDo in Paris!
January, 2019

Extraordinary and surprising collaboration by Paola Navone for McDonald's in France, a partnership born from the same idea of modernity, conviviality and cheerfulness always promoted by the fast-food chain all over the world. Here Paola Navone chooses to insert the Kiki lamps - suspension catenaries produced by Martinelli Luce - inspired by the garlands of Japanese temples and placed above the area dedicated to the McCafé, to evoke the pagodas of a Mediterranean beach and offer a relaxed atmosphere. The project - which involved the architect in creating the new space styling located at 2 Boulevard de l'Hopital in Paris, in the 5th arrondissement, one of the oldest addresses of the American chain - has led to the creation of an environment suitable for families but also for couples and students proposing a "domestic" atmosphere where all the rooms are unique, furnished with colorful and cheerful decor. Bright and warm, the new McDo (that's how it is called McDonald's in France) has an almost vintage feel with a black and white chessboard on the floor of the cash register and sixties-style diner furniture but reinterpreted in a contemporary key. The connection between Paola Navone and McDonald's is definitely out of the ordinary, confirming that style and design made in Italy are always surprising.
